    Banca Ifis: a 40-year success story

    Banca Ifis is a challenger bank made up of people, experience and technology that develops specialised solutions for the corporate and private world. It occupies a unique position on the Italian banking scene. Founded in 1983 as an operator specialising in factoring and listed on the Milan Stock Exchange (STAR segment) since 2003, Banca Ifis has been able to evolve by seizing, with speed and flexibility, new market opportunities in “specialty finance”.

    Objective: digitalization and process governance

    Banca Ifis stands out in the Italian financial landscape for a unique way of operating: a lean and effective structure that enables speed, and a business model characterised by specialisation, flexibility, innovation and speed.

    Following strong expansion and numerous acquisitions, Banca Ifis needed to manage the Group’s digitalisation process in a centralised manner, overseeing the individual companies to ensure unified and consistent processes.

     

    For this reason, Banca Ifis turned to InfoCert, which, thanks to its modular and flexible solutions, was able to provide all-round support for its digitisation needs: from e-Archiving processes to Certified Communications management, through to remote identification and Onboarding processes.

    Digital Trust solutions for all-round digitalization

    e-Archiving
    Thanks to Safe LTA, InfoCert’s e-Archiving solution compliant with the eIDAS regulation, Banca Ifis has ensured the integrity, authenticity and accessibility over time of archived documents, reaching over 1.5 million stored documents. Safe LTA is designed in compliance with EU Regulation 2016/679 (GDPR) and is compliant with the Open Archival Information System (OAIS) and the ISO standard Audit and Certification of Trustworty repositories.

    Certified Communication

    InfoCert provided Banca Ifis with around 200 Legalmail mailboxes with the addition of bulk sending functionality. This allowed the customer to send certified messages to multiple recipients simultaneously, streamlining paperwork, eliminating repetitive actions and minimising the risk of error.

    Identification and Onboarding
    However, among the most important digitisation steps, Banca Ifis decided to implement digital onboarding processes for all Group companies. Thanks to a framework agreement, the client was able to reduce project complexity by allowing each new Group company to automatically adopt existing digital processes. This facilitated the acquisition of new customers remotely, greatly speeding up back office activities and reducing the amount of printed paper.

     

    The widespread presence of agents in the territory was fundamental to implement Live ID processes in the first place, guaranteeing the presence of an operator throughout the process and facilitating accessibility to the service for all customers. 

    In a second step, Banca Ifis chose to further digitalize its processes with SPID National Identity Onboarding: “We have always differentiated ourselves in the market for our way of operating based on a streamlined structure and customer focus. Our mission is to provide concrete support through excellent services and products that have a positive impact on the economy. This is why we decided to further simplify access to banking services, improving the end-user experience and further reducing paperwork time,” says Marco Agosto, Head of Marketing and Business Strategy at Banca Ifis. A success that has seen Banca Ifis reach 10,000 SPID authentications.

    Towards a future of innovation: eIDAS 2.0

    Moreover, the collaboration with InfoCert does not stop here, as there are many digitalization possibilities provided by the new European eIDAS 2 regulation: “The entry into force of eIDAS 2 marks an important step towards a more secure and interoperable European digital identity. InfoCert, thanks to its proven experience in digital identity services and knowledge of the Italian regulatory landscape, is the ideal partner to help us understand and implement eIDAS 2 in the best possible way, seizing all its opportunities,” says Marco Agosto, Head of Marketing and Business Strategy at Banca Ifis. “Furthermore, we are aware that new AI technologies will play a key role in the development of increasingly advanced and automated onboarding solutions.
