Latest Updates on TrustED: The European Project with InfoCert for New Digital Identity Solutions

InfoCert is proud to be part of the TrustED project, a significant European initiative focused on advancing digital identity management.

The three-year project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation program.

    The Vision of TrustED

    •

Data-driven innovation is set to bring significant benefits to European citizens, impacting all sectors and daily life. It will enable AI-driven services to detect disease causes and allow individuals to seamlessly share identity attributes to participate in social or educational activities across Europe. However, the risks of identity compromise, data leakage, or misuse pose serious threats to the adoption of personal data spaces and the broader data economy.

The TrustED project aims to address these challenges by designing and developing a robust self-sovereign identity management method with advanced features. It will integrate a combination of privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) to enable two highly scalable and reliable personal data services within data spaces, ensuring privacy guarantees beyond GDPR, eIDASv2, and the European Digital Identity (EUDI) Wallet:

      1. – A trustworthy federated learning service combining multiple PETs, enabling AI-powered analysis of siloed datasets while preserving privacy.

      2. – A scalable and reliable self-sovereign identity management service integrating AI-based document validation, multimodal biometrics, and zero-knowledge proof (ZKP)-based selective disclosure techniques. This will enable electronic attestation, credential revocation, and secure sharing of specific identity attributes while preserving privacy.

InfoCert’s Contribution to TrustED: Bringing our expertise and capabilities as the largest European QTSP.

    • As player in the consortium, InfoCert will lead the design and technological work package, contributing to the application’s architecture and the development of the Digital Identity Wallet. The company will leverage its deep expertise in digital trust and electronic signatures, ensuring a high level of security and compliance as a QTSP. Additionally, InfoCert will work on the development of a platform for issuing additional qualified attributes, further enhancing the Wallet’s capabilities.

Already active in key European working groups for the development of the Digital Identity Wallet, InfoCert will bring all its acquired know-how and expertise to the project, reinforcing its commitment to shaping the future of digital identity solutions.
